Patrick Gibbons - Rider # 29
Hello there,
This is my 5th Smartride (1 virtual). I ride in honor of my brother John Gibbons who died in 1993 from complications due to AIDS. I am riding with a great group of women and men from the greater Jacksonville area! Every penny of every dollar we raise goes to actual patients and the agencies that serve them! Help a brother out!
On Friday November 17th, and Saturday November 18th I will join the 20th Anniversary ride with hundreds of other individuals who will ride their bicycles or crew from Miami to Key West 165-miles. Our journey will be one filled with hope, with memories, with pride, and with the dream of a future free of AIDS.
I have set an ambitious goal to help raise $2 Million this year, I personally want to do more than the required $1250 because I believe what we do makes a difference. Did you know that those being infected at the highest rate are ages 13-23, not a typo! Education, prevention, and care can make this disease a memory instead of a present-day reality. Nothing would give me more pleasure than to hang up my bicycle and know that the world is free of HIV and AIDS.
