Pridelines-vertical_hires-squarePridelines is Miami-Dade County’s LGBTQ Community Center and South Florida’s oldest LGBTQ direct service agency. Their mission is to support, educate, and empower South Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and community in safe and diverse spaces to promote dialogue, wellness, and to foster social change.  Pridelines was founded by gay and bisexual youth for LGBTQ youth in the wake of Anita Bryant’s Save Our Children campaign.  Rooted in a peer-led/adult-facilitated youth group model, the group began meeting at Miami-Dade College in 1982 and was formerly known as Pridelines Youth Services. Today, the agency has matured just like the youth they serve.  In 2015, the organization shortened its name to Pridelines to reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting the lives of all members of South Florida’s LGBTQ community.  Pridelines provides Health Programs and Services for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, Youth Programs and Services for youth and young adults ages 14 to 24, Programs and Services for Homeless Youth who are 18 to 24 and at-risk of or currently experiencing homelessness, and Community Engagement Opportunities for members of the LGBTQ community and their allies, regardless of age.

Now in its 31st year of service, AIDS Help (AH) is Florida’s oldest continuously operating AIDS service organization (ASO) and remains the only agency in Monroe County that serves, across the demographic spectrum from Key Largo to Key West, individuals living with HIV and AIDS.

AIDS Help provides case-managed health care, food, counseling, referral and support services to assist in helping people live fuller, healthier lives…plus services not covered by other grants and resources, such as non-covered prescription medications, alternative therapies and a nutrition/fitness program. In addition, the Agency provides HIV education, outreach, intervention, testing, referral and safe sex packet/condom distribution.

AIDS Help has a long history with TSR.  As Florida’s oldest operating HIV/AIDS service organization, it participated when it was known as BIKE It & B.E.A.R. It for AIDS, The Southernmost AIDS Ride 2 and the subsequent TSRs 3-13. As a result of being TSR’s only legacy agency,  AIDS Help was able to complete an additional 50 units of housing, bringing our proud total to 96 units for people living with HIV/AIDS, the only ASO in the state to hold that distinction.

AIDS Help looks forward to helping make a difference in the lives of so many again in 2017.
