Alfredo Iglesias - Rider # 46
This is my 10th consecutive year participating in The SMART Ride and ride's 20th and last year! These are great reasons to celebrate and renew my commitment to getting rid of HIV/AIDS and to help those affected by the disease.
I have committed to doing my part and am looking forward to not just fundraising and helping change the face of HIV and AIDS but to being part of this fantastic event this year. On Friday, November 17th, and Saturday, November 18th, I will join hundreds of other individuals who will ride 165 miles on their bicycles. Our journey will be one filled with laughter of hope, tears of pride, and the beautiful dream of a future free of AIDS.
For this year, I have set an ambitious goal to help raise more than the required $1250 because I believe what we do makes a difference (and because 100% of the money you donate will go back to the community). The event guarantees that every penny I raise (with your help) will be given to AIDS Service Organizations and directed to prevention, education, and direct services. Together, we can make a real difference, change the world, and help free future generations from living with HIV while helping those already affected, infected, or at risk today stay healthy.
This event is unlike other similar type of events. It’s the second-largest AIDS bicycle ride in the country and the only one of its size to guarantee that 100% of the funds raised will go back to the benefiting agencies. I hope you will consider joining me on this journey.
We share the words of Margaret Mead: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
